i took via from halifax to viking (alberta) once. it was grand. they have these student passes where you can travel for any 12 days within a 30 day period for under 400 bucks. i stopped in every province. have super duper fun.
Poor moose! I almost hit a moose once, while driving across the Rockies to get to the Grand Tetons (aproximately 20 minutes after injesting a tab no less! ) My car stopped inches from the moose butt. Scary! But train vs moose . . . poor, poor moose.
I have nver traveled via rail, but I would love to one day. It sounds so relaxed and mellow, a slower journey, but traveling by train is all about the journey in my mind (at least in my romantic fantasy about rail travel).
You are right! It is Dan Millman. Here is the book:
The Life You Were Born to Live: A Guide to Finding Your Life Purpose
It is an amazing book. If you are interested in numerology at all, I definitely recommend checking it out.
I would love to go. I've always wanted to take a trip by train, especially after I saw my first Agatha Christie movie. Unfortunately I'm broker than broke, hell, my birthday cheesecake date will tap me for the rest of feb. Maybe in the spring when the trees are turning green again?
What do I want to be when I grow up? Do I have to grow up? Well, I just want to be happy. Happy and earning enough money that I won't have to let train trip invites pass me by +o)
poor moose!
i always take the bus and it's ALWAYS late. the last trip i had on greyhound was seven hours late. ugh, i was suppose to go to work after i got home and i was going to have lots of time to get there if we showed up when we were suppose to. but i do enjoy a joint at every town we stop at for a smoke break. there's nothing like watching the mountain fly by while stoned....
i just might take you up on that dare.
when they're done i'll put a link in my journal to the site where all my art is.
I love the train, it's worth the extra time in my estimation.
What else up my nose? Raisins, buttons...
Oh wait, that was when I was 3.
