You're fond of these marvellous sculptures of what, exactly? Oh yes, Kelpies. Water horses that invite the unwary to ride on their backs, and then charge out to the deep water, to submerge, drowning their riders. In some parts, their hooves are reversed, and in some places, they are in league with the malevolent water spirit Jenny Green-Teeth. On the Isle of Man, I believe they are called 'Pookas'. Thanks for the great selection of shots - I had heard about them, but not seen them. They are quite magnificent- I take it that you are feeling better? If so, I am very glad. 😘😘😘

That's very good to hear. Hope everything is perfect for when you go on holiday. I'm at work tonight - I should be off, but several people are off sick. So I am sitting, not where I normally work, with my DAB radio, and good tea and my books, but in an area I have not worked in since January 1999. It's only for two nights, but my manager was so desperate, she has wangled me another week's fully paid holiday, so I shouldn't complain. I do feel oddly lost, though. I know what I have to do, all the paperwork, etc., but it doesn't feel RIGHT. Do you know what I mean?😘😘😘

Yeah I know what you mean @mrwaverly I'll be fine for my hols but my cat has an ear infection poor love! Had to take him to the vet last night. She was surprised how extensive it was as he's an indoor kitty. He had two injections and he's got ear drops. He was such a good boy!
mrwaverly:
I'm sorry to hear about your cat. Do your two play-fight? Or maybe he got an insect or a bit of grit in it. He could have even scratched himself whilst grooming. I hope it clears up soon. Cats are funny going to the vets. They seem to know. I'm lucky, because our vet is at the end of the road I live on. If I take Dave, he fights to get in his carrying case, then sits meek as a lamb whilst the vet examines him (usually fighting injuries). He (Dave, not the vet) always looks surprised when he has his temperature taken, which always makes me laugh. Dave just sits there as he's given injections, and goes all floppy so the vet can put him back in the case. I never laugh when I see the bill (how bloody much? for five pills and a jab? Daylight robbery, etc.) Then I get home, and usually have to tip Dave out of the case, as he now likes it in there. I usually end up covered in scratches. I do, somewhere have a photo of him looking rather sorry for himself, post vet visit. He really does look very sad.
