Well said. Most beginners won't know the photographer owns the Copyright in the photo but the model owns the Copyright in her performance. Also, the person or business that commissions the work owns the Copyright in the work. But all this is negotiable. While a model release form usually transfers the model's rights to the photographer for a fee, it can stipulate other things, such as the model owning the rights or retaining creative/editorial control.
