thanks!
theres really only a couple people i can show off my art to in real life so maybe having an audience will motivate me to do more
you guys complimented on 2 out of my 3 favorites so ill go into a little detail on them:
Crawler-
This picture was done all in pen (which means no erasing). Most people who see this think its some sort of alien that takes up habitation in human corpses but thats not what its supposed to be. In fact it isnt supposed to be anything really. Like the creatures in the Silent Hill games; they resemble something that could have concievably once been human, but they never were. They simply exist as what they are; random parts strung strung together in the bowels of hell. They arent practical, they arent really functional, they simply are. And thats what the Crawler is.
Scrap Wings-
Theres actually much more to this concept than is visible in the picture. I plan to expand on this idea in the future, on real drawing paper. I had this idea of the character of "Death" and what he might look like. The cliche is that of a skeleton in a robe, carrying a scythe, but i came up with a different take. What if every time someone was killed, the thing that caused their death actually became a part of Death himself. So Death is not a flimsy skeleton, but a massive, hulking figure made up of millions upon millions of metal fragments; bullets, swords, anything and everything that had ever inflicted death since the beginning of time. And he could manipulate these pieces and change shape at will. For the purposes of keeping him somewhat human sized, perhaps the area under his cloak does not obey the laws of space/time and houses all these near infinite pieces without taking up any more room, but if the need arose he could use these compressed pieces to make himself virtually any size or shape imaginable.
hehe my mom says i should make comic books or movies for a living. perhaps you can see why
what i think would be really great tho (wether its a reasonable goal or not, i have no idea) would be to make movie props for a living. like the masks, costumes, objects, etc. but with CG being used more and more theres probably less and less call for people who do that so it may not be an attainable goal...
