i tried to write an email to someone this afternoon. i sat in front of the blank screen for like 30 minutes trying to decide if it was a stupid idea, and then another 30 writing it after deciding it WAS stupid but i needed to do it anyway. then after finishing the thing...i couldnt send it. i hit the X. if i sent something like that now, so soon...it just wasnt a good idea.

how do you tell if you just have a big crush on someone or if youre really, genuinely falling for them? and how fast can that happen?

i dont have nearly enough experience (like none) to be able to tell so...for now ill play it safe i guess blackeyed

i do that with emails. i usually only send them when i'm drunk, which luckily only happens every 3 months or so.

how you tell a crush vs. the real thing: spend a year trying to make them hate you, and trying to make yourself hate them. also spend that year with another person and try to convince yourself that person 2 is the right one for you.
if, after all that, you still care about person 1 and miss them more than you've missed anything in your entire life, then...yeah, you've really fallen for them.
though that is a quite painful, long, and tedious route, i'm really not sure how to tell otherwise.
oh, and i'm under the impression that falling for someone can happen way fast.

i don't think there is any time table for when a crush becomes "falling for someone".

but IMO it doesn't happen until you are actually dating (as opposed to a crush from afar).

i dunno, it's more of a mutual thing, and i think you feel a bit more grounded. your head can still be swimming, but you still have a grasp of the earth.
