Oven Baked French Toast:
Serves: 8-10
Oven Temperature: 375 F
45 Minute Baking Time
13 x 9" baking pan, buttered on bottom and sides!
10 eggs in large bowl, beaten
2 cups sugar
2 tbsp. vanilla extract
4 cups half & half (1 litre)
Texas Toast White Bread (Wonder bread very thick)
To beaten eggs, add sugar and vanilla. Blend thoroughly. Add cream and blend. Cutting bread slices in half, place first layer tightly in pan the edges may creep up the sides a little, but not too much. Ladle egg mixture over single layer of bread just until covered. Place another layer into centre of pan (leaving about 1 1 _ inches all the way around from edge of pan) Ladle remaining custard mixture over top until covered and 1/2" from top of pan.
Refrigerate overnight ( 4 24 hours).
Bake in oven, uncovered 45 minutes or until knife inserted in center pulls out clean. Let rest 10 minutes after removing from oven. Cut into 8 10 pieces.
hey, firedancer09! here i am to explain BORG1 and 2, but first off, why am i not surprised to hear that the NYC Decom was a STONE-COLD GROOVE?!?! If i had all the money in the world, I'd go to every single one of them and make sure everyone i saw got a "party favor." but hey, I'm sure it kicked ass anyway. (note: i used to be an NYC burner back in 2000. if you know Q, lady merv, wendypolyploidy from gaia treehouse or sarah blush, they'll remember me.)
okay, the BORG 1 and 2 stems from the "I have a dream" petition posted here. larry has responded back to it, and you can read that response, as well as their rebuttal, on this site. Now as I mentioned before, I can't vouch for the veracity of what i posted, but basically, from this document, it sounds like larry has given the go-ahead to do their OWN burning man, run on THEIR terms, taking place at the same time and place as the official bm. So basically, there will be TWO black rock cities this year on the playa.
Some have noted with the theme that this will be a very appropriate thing - burning man developing two split personalities. at the very least, this is already shaping up to be a very interesting year. and this is great - tension is good for artists!
