Actually, I should have been more clear: the semester's almost over, but I still have another year. I'm looking to go into publishing, as an editor or write (preferably both).
You know what - it's been my experience that it's wise to just go ahead and take a shot at the job you want. If they say no, then that's cool - at least you made the attempt. Not to mention you are getting information about what experience you need. Then you can go from there and look at other schools.
I know that as soon as I finish my book, which wil be in the next three months, I'm going to have to send my synopsis around to some agents and publishers who say they prefer previously published authors...so when *I* start getting frustrated, you can remind me of what I just said to you
Send in your resume... The worst that can happen is they say you don't have the experience.
In fact, send your resume in to *every* place that might even remotely be interested. You can't get the job if you don't try.

In the medical industry, experience is key. It would be great if you could get in with a single doc practice or a small and cozy multi-doc practice where you could wear many hats. Learning the workflow from Front Desk to Triage to Billing to Collections will not only pump up your experience but also you salary rate to boot. Not only is coding and health care important, but knowing the business is vital.
I would also look for some place with multiple types of practices, not just one specialty. It will be hard work but you will basically be cramming tons of experience into a short time.
Oh oh, and choosing a practice with an advanced computer system, preferrably PC, is a MUST!
If you had multi-specialty experience and knowledge of coding, workflow, business, insurances, computers, HIIPA and RL patient relations, you would basically be unstoppable. You would get a ton of additional experience using your knowledge to teach new employees at your practice in RL situations too. Afterward, even if you went back and that place still didn't want you, you would have so many viable economic options that you probably wouldn't care anyway!
never hurts to apply to the dream job! you may be perfect if they are looking for someone to sculpt and preen. also- they might be looking for affordable labor- never know unless you try!
ps- you're so sweet with the brownies.. she needed some love!!!
ARIES (March 21-April 19): The planning for a typical wedding lasts from 7 to 12 months. Getting ready for the birth of a child usually requires every minute from the time people find out they're pregnant until the delivery day. I foresee you experiencing an event in early 2006 that will resemble both of these happy yet challenging events. It might be something like the birth or dramatic renewal of a relationship. Or it could be the launch of a partnership that will ask everything of you, and give just as much. I suggest you start your preparations.
The showing of the boobs might help.
Noir really liked the brownies. That might work too.
Or.
Send your resume. More importantly, get a hold of the person you are applying to. Talk to them. Be personal. If one of the 3 that you can get a recommendation from knows the other person, see if you can get them to recommend you.
i think everyone should drop the "i wish i coulds..." and go straight to the "i am gonna.."
above everything: do what you want! do what you love! don't let anything hold you back!!!!
you'll get it if you want it bad enough!!!
