The end of the week draws near, only a few days of work left to go before a two week break. I just had an icy cold Belgian beer while working on some drum sounds and reviewing a song I wrote a few months back and damn that beer was good.

Sometimes just one beer can summon up a whole host of feelings, of sunnier days and long warm nights in dingy band venues with cool company, of touring and traveling, meeting people in various countries in Europe... sigh. I need to get back out on the road and gig circuit again. Soon.

I now have four songs finished for my solo project The Spiral Sequence and have had a couple of offers from musicians I have never met interested in playing if I put together a band line line up to play live. Hopefully that is a sign of good things to come....

I'm spending lot of time by myself writing and learning how to record and mix my own music properly instead of paying someone else to do it, I'm really enjoying the challenge of learning it all and doing it all myself but I can't wait to be out playing live again. My perfect outcome would be playing live in Europe in 2009 or 2010 in summer, so I can also check out the major festivals along the way.
