the money thing points out why its so common in foodservice--waiters and bartenders can make a lot of cash and then get out of work late at night so they have nothing else to do than drink and do coke. And its especially bad in the city where people don't have to worry about driving and stuff.
it can. in the right circumstances you can make 100-300 a night just being a waiter. bartenders can make even more. but, like I said, only if you're lucky. but even if you're making a more modest some of 60-100 a night thats still a lot of coke and booze for maybe 6 hours of work.
the hair? (or lack of it) the first thing I though of is how tough you looked. like, if I was into boxing and stuff I'd wanna box you. Not in a violent way, but in a fun silly play-fighting type of way.
