dariianity:
Lol what??! mmbop has lyrics?
hiptobes:
I'm asking...
elizathetroll:
I remember back in the day watching Mystic River on TV with my American flat mate and neither of us was able to follow it without subtitles. So it's definitely not just British accents.
sosbanfach:
@dariianity I fucking know. That was basically my reaction as well.. Mmbop apparently actually means something as well, like a short period of time. Who knew?
sosbanfach:
@hiptobes 😳😳😳😳😳😳😳😳
sosbanfach:
@elizathetroll 😂 I don't think I struggled with Mystic River, I'm mostly alright with English language regional accents. I can even tell you most of what Brad Pitt is saying in Snatch haha. Snoop in the Wire is a challenge though. I had to rewind a few of her lines back to try again.
nebula:
LOL
electriceye22:
English is a crazy fucking language.
waitformetoturnblue:
I’m asking: How did you come to be reading the lyrics to “Mmbop”, because there is a story in this somewhere.
wizard0:
Ok, I had to watch the video and read the lyrics.  I had no idea it was anything deeper than bubblegum pop music.
sosbanfach:
@wizard0 bwahahah I'm not entirely sure it's deep, still, but it's not just scat singing haha.
wizard0:
That's pretty much what I thought it was.  Pretty sure we ridiculed the song a lot in college, for just being a catchy jingle.
memorandom:
True story, when this song came out I was in college and we all thought this song - every time it came on the radio, which was often - was being sung by girls. When someone told us it was a bunch of boys, there was arguing. And even after photographic evidence was provided, we still weren't necessarily convinced.
sosbanfach:
@memorandom oh, Scotland
