Sure, easy, if you don't count installing all those damn programs the bastards decided to keep in tar.gz format... And all the missing libraries when I'm lucky enough to find a program in RPM... And no program to get said libraries automatically...
But since this is open source, I'm sure that there's SOME programs that can do that stuff; and if there isn't, I'll make one. Uh, once I learn bash/Python/all these other wacky new programming languages.
Now if I could just figure out how to give myself permanent administrator privilages.

No, the packed programs installed perfectly, it was the most non-stressful installation of an OS imaginable. I mean all the awesome programs I've downloaded from Sourceforge.
And yeah, I've been trying to give myself the privilages the way you described, but I haven't found out how to do it yet. I guess I'll have to actually read a FAQ or something...
