Trying to get more into posting on here... so here it goes with a good weekend post

I work in IT. Late in the week a couple weeks ago our ONLY email server crashed hard. I'm still trying to figure out why there was no back up server. With that being said the last couple of weeks were hell while it was rebuilt and what could be recovered of customer's emails were recovered. I decided I needed to have a good weekend so I finally did this weekend.

Early in the week I was craving pie, but in my small town all there was is pumpkin pie... which is evil. I finally got pie on Friday along with a 'grown up' version of mac & cheese.

I was so happy! Haven't had a good piece of pie in a long time. My grandma used to make raspberry pie using fresh berries from the patch in our yard. She's too old to do so now so this summer I'll have to take care of that. Usually if I can't find a food or at least a version of it I like I'll make my own.

While out shopping with my roommate I saw a sign that said they offered poutine. That's not something you see every day in Minnesota so even though I was full from dinner I bought some. It was a deal that came with a bottle of Molsons, which in my opinion is a very disgusting beer, a bud lite of the north is you will. We took our poutine home and had it with a good beers. I had mine with Breakfast Stout, a coffee stout from Founders Brewing company. It's amazing and I suggest everyone try some.

Also picked up some of my favorite soda, Surge, that was brought back by a campaign after being discontinued in the 90s. More info on Surge can be found here facebook.com/surgemovement/?fref=ts.

Typically good weekends for me do involve good food and drink, but I also did more. My roommate and I helped my dad replace the kitchen sink, which went smooth other than some manufacturing defects that we had to fix, finally changing the bulbs in a stupidly hard to reach light fixture and finally getting my lazy ass back to the gym. The only down side is I couldn't find a good desk chair to replace my old one in any of the store in the area. I'm currently browsing Amazon, but if anyone has any suggestions please share them.

The coming work week is looking to be hell again, but for different reasons than the email server. At least I gave myself a couple of days of happiness. I must do this again sometime :).
