Dunno. Amanda's a "horse" and we get along great. I'm not supposed to get along with "tigers" but most of my friends are. I'm a monkey at heart anyway.
I came up with it in December '99 as a alias on the stileproject, back when it was like me and 30 other people on what passed for a forum (it's one of those threaded ones where all the posts are in a list going down the page). "Scatmonkey" sounded both repulsive and cute at the same time so I stuck with it. I think part of it was influenced by the death of a jazz musician named John "Scatman John" Larkin around that time. Who knows, it was spur of the moment.
It probably repels more people than I intend it too, but what can ya do?

hm... i think i agree most with the stuff about dogs being very even-tempered and logical and throwing themselves into work that interests them. i don't know so much about that bit about being generous... is too bad, but i've got something of a lack-of-money phobia - perhaps i'll get over that once i'm out of school and know that i'm doing okay.
