i always wanted a koi pond.

I am trying to talk my dad into getting a pond. He's been playing around with the idea for 20 years. About time he gets to it.

What are Koi? I read that goldfish get as big as the pond (or bowl) that you put them in, so couldn't you just get some gold fish?
