well, the thc doesn't "cure", but the chlorophyll does need to break down into sugar. That's what gives "good" herb (along with good genetics) a satisfying, non-harsh taste. It's the process of slowly drying, then allowing the chlorophyll to break down that we call "curing".

Smoking wet herb is akin to smoking fresh grass-clippings from your lawn. You can get high, but HARSH! Yes, I've tried it.
