Aha. I wondered if maybe our sometimes trite interpretation of French culture would have bothered you. I get really bothered hearing Americans talk about Scottish culture because they tend to turn it into something totally tacky and very different from what it is!
Inverness seems to be packed full of French people at the moment. The Scottish Tourist Board must have ran a massive advertising campaign in France or something. On the way into town the other day I had a French man start making flirty comments with me in French - well, enough for me to understand, though I couldn't think of something smart enough to say in response with my very basic French 'skillz'.
Though after being kept awake now two nights in a row by what as I can only describe as a demented owl (really, it can't make the 'twit-twoo' sound properly) I am done with living that bit out of the way.
Cheers! I'll probably update about it soon, but things are going well so far - though, I'm just training for the first week.
Found out today that I'm going to be on the Corus desk doing IT support for them. Also, my trainer recommended me to apply for tier 2 as soon as I get on my desk, which I'm guessing is a good thing. I know it's more pay and probably a more interesting/challenging job.
How's work been for you this week? I hope the chef hasn't been giving you a hard time. x
I liked the video you have posted in my blog, thank you!
Oh and I want money too!!
