Dear God - I Hate Grading .
It's not just that it's work, or that it's particularly awful work. But, really, what is the difference between a B and a B+? And goddammit, you better know - because you will get someone who comes begging for a better grade, and you need to be able to defend what you did.
Here's an interesting fact (OK - the "interesting" part is probably debatable...) about how I grade: Good writing will get you bumped UP. Bad writing doesn't really hurt you, especially if your argument makes sense and you're basically doing the assignment properly.
