So in school I'm majoring in "Exercise and Health Promotion." So part of my education is to take several nutrition classes. As a result of what I've been learning I've been thinking for a while now about becoming a vegetarian or even a vegan. I've gone back and forth about the idea several times for several reasons. But today I think I've finally been convinced to go vegan.
My current teacher suggested a documentary to watch called Forks Over Knives (which I was thrilled to learn that this can be watched instantly on Netflix!) and I must say, I was completely surprised by what it has to say. I'm generally a pretty skeptical person and dont just change my mind quickly or easily. I always do my own research in to a subject or analyse it before figuring out how I feel. This documentary was basically the cherry on top of everything else I have read and learned.
I feel like this will be a difficult transition for me because I have to find some recipes for GOOD vegan food (I had a friend that was vegan and she made me a meal a couple years ago that was the worst thing I have ever smelled or tasted before LOL) and figure out what to use as a substitute for dairy products. But I'm really looking forward to the challenge.
