It's a tough time to be going through it. I went through mine several years ago, it's tough. Hey, I'm also a former Rhode Islander! Be good to yourself and stay healthy and safe right now
@frankmainsail what part of RI did you live in? I grew up in Western Cranston with a ton of rich or wannabe rich kids. I was on the Cranston/WarWhack (as we called it) line near the malls. I worked in the Warwick mall in high school.
@pableauxnouveau thanks. It does suck. Iām glad Iām away from the being demoralized and having people scream at me every day for making a vague post on Facebook that named no names and were really just there for venting purposes, and were 100% private posts to only a few friends. He and the freeloader roommate were cyber stalking me and hacking into my accounts. Heād kicked me out of my room at that point, forcing me to being smaller room that hardly fit my bed in it, and heād just start screaming at me at like 6am. Iām glad itās over. I defended him when other people said he was a jerk. I didnāt see it until it became mental abuse and some physical.
SID, I grew up in North Providence, owned a home in Greenville. Last time I saw the Warwick mall it was a shell of what it used to be. So, I got divorced, moved to Charleston, SC for 2 years and now I'm in San Diego, been here 19 yrs.Ā LOL I never heard Warwick called WarWhack, that's great!
@frankmainsail I dated a guy from North Providence when I was in high school. He was bat shit cray, and went to Hendricken, the boyās Catholic school. I love San Diego, and I go out there for comic con every year! I donāt know if you go to the con, but Iām always down to get meals/drinks (not that I drink much anymore, plus I save being drunk for if/when I am invited to an open bar industry party) with cool people and meet new people where ever I go. This year, assuming SDCC still goes off without a hitch, I am going to for sure live it up and hopefully try to bribe my way into a room/suite at the hard rock (I got to stay there once and loved it!). I have my pro pass ready to go. Iām thinking about moving out to LA/San Diego within a year or so. I just want to live somewhere warm and with more opportunities for me.
@frankmainsail it better be! Itās all I really have to look forward to. Plus Iām supposed to speak at a panel or two, and I need to see my industry friends so badly, especiallyĀ because I can officially tell them Iām ready to move to one of the places they have offices in to work for them. Theyāve asked for years, and my ex husband wasnāt having it.
@chezgeek oh man, Iām sorry! I know 3 other girls who live out here, two of which were SGs, going through it too. It just hurts. If you need to talk, Iām here. I might take a bit to get back to you because I play too much animal crossing, but Iām normally checking this place.
Sorry for the late response... Life stuff. I'm doing pretty well, all things considered. I just moved and found the pictures I took at the East Coast camping trip in 2005. So many good memories! I still remember you buying me Chinese food lol.
Totally understand. Sometimes Iād forget this place existed if it werenāt for one of my best friends being an SG too. Well, it was only Panda Express... if I recall correctly. You wanna know something weird? Colorado has freestanding Panda Expresses. Like not in a just in a mall food court, theyāre in their own buildings! Some of them have drive throughs! How scary fucked is that? Even worse is Denver has āChinese food by the scoopā so you pay for how many ice cream scoopsā worth of food you get. Never been to one of those places for obvious reasons.
@big_n3rd Iāve lived in Colorado for about 13 years now and only been to Casa Bonita once. Ā Not that it was impressive. I also live near Cave of the Winds (closer since my divorce) and have never been.
@big_n3rd ironically, I am originally from the townĀ in RI that Family Guyās town is based on. You can literally see the same skyline of Providence from nearby my momās house. I donāt miss it very much. I just miss my cousins and extended family mostly.
