Freaky...If they tell you to bail, - bail! No house is worth you or your fam's lives.
I was in the Goldy during the sand storm, it wasn't a fire but it was pretty intimidating, in a mother nature's angry kind of way.
All the best
spinhouse247:
Best of luck, even if the authorities don't tell you to bail and you think you should then do so! Hope you all stay safe, godspeed.
munchie:
What are you doing to protect yourself/your home?
friscillating:
1. Build firebreak around house.
2. Soak roof with hose.
3. Pack important things in vehicle.
4. Don't start smoking just now.

Are you ok? Be ok.

Hug.

Wow, I had no idea there were fires going on. Theres been really high fire dangers though. I'm sure they'll keep it under control, but make sure you take some precautions miss. Pack the car, run the hose, and run away if it gets close!!!!tongue
yossarian_22:
Just remain safe and follow any public advisory info. Would you post a video of sky and helicopters?
ainslie:
Same thing happened to me with the big Canberra bushfires a couple of yrs ago. U just gotta pack ur shit and be ready to go at any time. It was really close but never reached my place. Hopefully it'll be the same for u xo

il keep everything crossed it doesnt effect you <3
greatchance:
Just see if it's realistic that you can clear enough of a fire line and map out And Monitor at least couple escape routes! No idea of your lot and specifics nor where you at and I'm sure all Sawyers are working otherwise they could clear with you- be safe, I'd skip roof action unless you have a pool and a foamer-spend your time clearing call or MSG incident command if you can and tell them location ask them what's best to clear etc, if they get a minute I'm sure they will answer. Best Wishes from this certified wildland fire fighter/sawyer!
ohmygil:
omg. Stay safe. Barium has the right idea too. That's some crazy shit, but best to try and keep a level head.
leucetios:
That is horribly scary. I wish you the best, there's some great advice in the comments so I won't repeat it except to say: stay safe.

lazaruscries:
Yikes, I would have started digging a mile wide moat around my house by now. That is if I could afford to have a house.
marianne:

casca:
That is scary, if you're told to leave just get everyone safe. Best of luck.

We had the same thing during the Canberra bushfires. I plugged up all the gutters and filled them with water. We packed all our photo albums into the car ready to go, and got buckets of water filled everywhere, and hoses all ready to go. It was raining burning embers on the house, but the fires were 50km away! But we survived it. But like everyone said, get out of there unless you know what you're doing.
ryu:
Sending you good thoughts!
agy:
