Just got back in from watching the most boring fucking superbowl I think I have ever watched. The commercials were good. A few hillarious ones surrounded by some sort of funny ones.
Had a shoot today...sort of. I was a chaperone for a model friend who was shooting with a new photog for the first time so she wanted me to tag along and play bodyguard/hall monitor. Always happy to oblige. The other photog was a super nice guy. He was so very quiet and reserved though. He had a hard time communicating what he wanted from her alot of the time. Fortunately when she told him that another photog was coming with her he invited me to bring my camera gear as well and join in the shooting. It was cool, we were shooting in an old (100+ years) cigar factory that is in a rundown section of town. Killer place, and I am looking forward to going back there sometime soon!
I packed light (4 cameras).
I tried to stand back most of the time and just watch. I could see he was trying give her a little direction but he was just so quiet and shy. Most of the time I could look at the situation and see what he was trying to go for so I stepped in a bit and directed her to help speed the day along. We had a great time and I think he will make a great networking contact. He is a writer and is published in magazines quite a bit and he is also a DJ at the major alternative community radio station here. Cool guy.
