I almost married a jewish boy and faced the concept of jewish mother-in-law. Wonderful lady. Scared the crap out of me. shocked

*passes you a guiltshowerbrella*
h34rt4gr4m:
my mom is the same way. maybe not a yenta, but she's always really good at making me feel like a total and utter disapoinment.

the sad thing is:

my dad is ten times better at it.
nutzilla:
Oh yeah. I know what you mean. My mom learned the guilt game from my grandma who is very subtle. I don't even think she knows that she's doing it but she makes my mom and uncle feel guilty as hell about stupid crap. Jewish guilt is the worst, I know...
My method for dealing with guilt is basically to quickly run away before it works and my mom knows how much I hate guilt and that I usually deliberately disobey her if she uses the jew guilt so she's gotten better at not doing it but sometimes like my grandma she's really subtle and then I'm like putty in her hands...Damn moms and their crafty games...
Good luck beautiful. Don't let THEM win!
bridgetwnpeddler:
lucky you.

Several of my best friends are Jewish and I've experienced and discussed the phenomenon plenty with them. You have my condolences!

How sad, sorry things suck with your mother. But I have a great Mother and so happy to have her still.
