So the Madison public schools were closed today and they will be again tomorrow.

When will Dictator Walker abdicate from his throne? How long will he keep our kids out of school before he caves in? I would like to think the answer is "not too much longer" but I know that's not true. Pretty soon other parts of the state will start shutting down too.

As a Wisconsinite, and as an American in general the most offensive and infuriating part of this whole thing is that he is trying to take away our basic right to free speech. Collective bargaining exists to give workers a voice that they might not otherwise have in the workplace. Sure technically you can walk into work and say whatever the hell you want, but it won't be without consequences. "Collective" bargaining acts as a form of protection against retaliation from employers when employees stand up for their rights. Walker is telling us that state workers can't have unions. Unions are the voice of the people. I mean, what's next? I don't even want to think about it at this point.

First it was shutting down the high-speed rail project that would have brought a much-needed form of transportation, money and JOBS to Wisconsin. Now he is attempting to balance the budget on the backs of middle class people AND take away their unions so they can't have anything to say about it.

I don't know how this ass clown got elected but I do know that he is trying to ruin everything that makes Wisconsin the great, progressive state that it is. I work in a non-profit that provides social services, and much of the funding from our program comes from state grants. We are already strapped for cash and I hate to think what will happen if people like Walker keep running the Wisconsin budget into the ground like this. So far, he has shown that he does not care about public transportation, jobs, the working and middle classes, education, free speech OR bringing money into the state, which he remedies by stealing from state workers.

God help us. mad
