Another single by my band Afflicted By Design is in the can and out for release. "This Is Not A Love Song" is an industrial rock cover of the song by Public Image Ltd. and features my former bandmates from Otto's Daughter, Jacqueline van Bierk on vocals and Jim Robbins on lead guitar. Mike Carrasquillo also returns on drums.
This is the second single I released with the band that is a cover song. I didn't intend on doing this at first, but writing lyrics turns out to be a real pain in the ass. I've been a bass player and composer so long that is has not been easy writing lyrics. So, I figured I would by myself some time finishing my original songs by recording and releasing covers. The good news is that I was able to finally finish the lyrics for 1 of the 3 songs on the next EP. But I also started wiring a new song that I might want to add to the next EP.
Anyway… I hope to get the new music out by summer and get the band out playing shows in Austin, Los Angeles and New York. We'll see. "This Is Not A Love Song" is available on iTunes, Spotify, Rdio, Google Play, Deezer and Amazon. Here's some clips of the new single.
