"All the other cool kids" is an incorrect statement, as I wasn't in attendance.

But, I do wish I could have gone to see x with you guys, but I was out with my new lady friend.

My very cute lady friend, I might add, as I finally spent enough time with her in a lighted area to verify the fact.
