I really want to talk to you about your relationships but I'm getting a odd feeling that you have a complete different point of view than anyone else. Therefore, I'll take my time trying to understand you, before make any attempt of give you and advise. After all, you seem to be able to make everything make sense, or some sense, and be confortable with it.
I'm curious about your father and what he wants you to do. Before I went to the university, my whole family and my father specially, putted (?) efforts in make me study Law instead Psychology. Finally I bowed to their will and pick up Law, in one of the three most respected universities of So Paulo - of Brazil, by the way. Nevertheless, I hate it, and I gave my most disgracefull academic performance ever. I was so awfully bored that I couldn't help myself from sleep every night in the classes... horrible.
Today I have to live with the waste of five years of my life, plus the money, without have a major because I couldn't bear it anymore. And now I too old, through the optic of market, to start all over again.
Would you like to feel the same? Would you take the risk to feel like me? I don't think you should.
If you feel that Arts is you place in the world, or at least it gives you some pleasure, go after it.
