cosmia:
Hey there, haven't bumped into you in the street for a while, what's new? x
daisy:
Well now.... look how the tables have turned. I've got the moany blog, and you're all loved up and happy. Screw you.

So, go on, sicken us more, tell us about how amazing everything is, and how wonderful your man is...

You coming to the meet so?
mcroger:
Yo!! I don't mind. I do it in It's actually the make up forever shop but it's also face 2! It's on Clarenden Street and only runs for a month but it's a really good foundation course incase it's not really what you want or if you only want quick lessons.

It's brilliant! I've been to two classes and I have learned so much I didn't know before. You need to sign up soon though if you want to make it in for March because there are only 12 places and they fill up quick as a flash!
Alternatively you could go to LA make, the make up room, the beauty academy (although I wouldn't recommend them, they don't seem to be down with people who actually want to learn!) I googled make up classes in Dublin and loads came up!
Good luck with it and I hope we are rivals on the make up scene soon! wink
mcroger:
I know! Google is so weird. Like I would google it in work and sufficient information would come up then when I googled it at home something totally different would come up. It's like the information is location specific or something!

Anyway, in make up forever, you pay 595 euro and you get use of their make up and the classes which are two days a week for the three hours. You also get a 15% discount for the store for the month of your course and then a 10% discount for a year after which doesn't sound like much but it does add up.
You have buy you make up brushes but you get a discount on them and it works out at 180 euro. In other places the kit is provided but it is not the best so you end up having to buy it anyway. The duration of most courses is about 14 weeks but it costs twice as much and again, you will end up having to buy a decent kit.
The kit will last forever if you take care of it. Just washing the brushes regularly which you can't get out of because of hygiene reasons!

I would do it because it's a skill you can either work on and so something great or a hobby and make your friends and family look great. It's win, win!
mcroger:
Well, the classes all start at 6 but I'd wait till the summer just with the exams and panic and what have you of college. They run them every month so you have loads of time.
Yea, they cover 7 or 8 different make up looks, I forget exactly. On Wednesday we did the natural look and on Monday we will do a bridal look so yea, they cover photographic looks, like the flawless look.
I think though to be really brilliant you'd have to go to college. Like I was thinking of going to Dun Laoghaire I.T where they do the special effects but you can also go to the college in the town. It's the difference, just one is longer. I think anyway and Dun Laoghaire I.T focuses on special effects but it doesn't take long to qualify and then you can do anything!!

What are you studying now, If you don't mind me asking?
mcroger:
My friend was doing that course. She was doing Spanish and Japanese or was going to do that later but then fell pregnant! It's a shame because it would have been a great career.
Having languages will be brilliant if you peruse make up full time because you can work pretty much anywhere without the issue of language barriers! And France is a great place for make up so you are away!!
tian:
What's the brand name?
pinkybones:
Hey thanks for adding me! I thought I'd reply to you here rather than in MAC! I'm going to Dublin, on March 19th, so I'll miss the meet up. Are you in Dublin then? I'm so excited! xx
