I'm a goober for Brit comedies on PBS television. A silly phrase I've picked up and run with is *in my best Cockney accent* "Oh hello! How's your mother? Haven't seen 'er in so long!" that I heard once and can't get it out of my head!
I've been told it's a bit cheeky, and even once by a perky Brit lass that it's a downright debasing slang term inferring carnal knowledge of one's mum whilst telling them to bugger off!
But I prefer its use to loudly exclaim my astonishment from finding a prized tschotski when on an "obtainious matter" pick in some dank cellar clean out or crowded flea market stall.
It does turn heads, and exudes some giggles. Even becomes a great ice breaker.
Now I use it for damn near anything: finding a missing spice in the back of my cupboard I was sure I'm out of, finding my misplaced keys, finding a few folded dollars in a pants pocket on laundry day... it's damn universal! And I've no qualms if you borrow it as your own. Cheers 😎
