"who's there?"
"it's me George... and I brought Mark with me"
"George and Mark who?
"Clooney and Wahlberg... Get The Fuck Under Cover! It's the Perfect Storm!!!"
So what we have here is three distinct storm rotations, many hundreds of miles apart, all ready to meet up and whack the n/e US
1) central US slowly moving e/s/e with heavy snow exceeding 1"/hour
2) moving rapidly n/e up out of the Gulf of Mexico, tightly wound up with huge boiling cloud tops full of strong winds lightning and massive amounts of moisture
3) started inocuously off the South Carolina coast meandering about and building up storm clouds
Now, out of nowhere - WAAAYYY out ahead of the main snow maker #1 - comes heavy wet snow squalls pushing up from #3
The "Moist Maker" *sidebar: see Ross lose his sandwich in Friends* is #2 and just now lending it's wet bitch slap to #3
When 1-2-3 get their barn dance together tonight - right over my head - ...Well, some guys and gals getting paid a whole hella lot to know about these things are beginning to say "Historic" eep!
I'm all good: pantry packed, clean dry clothes stored up, and if power drops out I have a gas stove can light with a match and beaucoup vintage fully functional oil lamps and some candles.
I pray for those whose jobs will require being out in this mess, as equally for those insane enough to tempt fate and common sense - but especially for the homeless forced to ride it out in makeshift shelters. Of course I say special prayers for the critters! Made batches of homemade peanut birdcakes *organic fresh churned peanut butter, steel cut oats, red and white millet, sunflower seeds, whole unsalted roasted peanuts, honey, homemade applesauce, cheese chunks - yes cheese, I know weird right? They love the protein! - molasses and powdered milk *more protein* oh, and a tiny bit of sterilized sand for digestion - it's a bird thingy look it up. Put it all in a 1qt sauce pot on lowest heat, just long enough for the peanut butter to begin melting, then gently keep stirring until it begins cooling. Turn out onto a cookie sheet and press into roughly 3/4" thick, score into 4"x4" cakes. Break apart cakes when completely cooled. Yes it smells fantastic, and yes... since I used all certified organic ingredients I couldn't resist a nibble ***thinking of sooo many sweet Babes I'd like to nibble on too!*** So... I've been shoving these in my suet feeders all day as fast as they'd gobble one up, so I'll say mission accomplished there. Oh --- I have some special ones that include pulverized egg shells, pecan, almond, apple chunks and homemade raspberry preserves for after the storm passes tomorrow afternoon. They'll need the extra sugars calcium and potassium for a quick reboot.
Hope to see y'all on the other side! Peace Love and virtual warm hugs and kisses from high atop beautiful and very chillySharp Mountain in Pennsylvania US ☃️
