ah, that movie truly fucked me up when i was in high school. in a good way - my buddys and i couldn't stop talking about all the implications... good stuff.

i've always wanted, but never been able to track down, a copy of the soundtrack to that film.

you familiar with DJ Shadow's Endtroducing.. ? he cuts that bit into the record a few times - in the midst of some tangerine dream samples...

anyway, blahzay blahzay blah... biggrin

don't get me wrong - shadow's latest is very worth checking out - it's just a bit of a leap from the first one and took a bit to get used to. it's one of the best records of last year, for sure.
panxromana:
Thanks, I appreciate it. Already uninstalled it!!!
scylla:
No! However, I have seen the film...

Schweet! If I were not boarding a plane soon I'd tap that (literary) ass... as it is it shall have to wait until I get back to Portland and back to MY computer, complete with leisure time...
kris7:
Dude what movie is that from? I heard it in the intro part of Marilyn Mansons cover of "Down In The Park".

And thank you for that whole Radio Free explanation. It was actually helpful.

The playlist wasn't for any radio station. It's just an MP3 playlist on my comp in my home so I can just hit "random/shuffle" and let the good times roll. I called it RADOFREEUSA b/c I felt liberated now that I had complete and total control over what sort of songs would be randomly coming out of my speakers.

Actually I really like the idea of "broadcasting from a free part of the US to parts that aren't free'. That's kind of what the playlist would be about if it were to ever get on the air. Don't worry about it being a "n00b" explanation, I'm very glad you stopped by with it. It honestly made me like the name I picked out for it that much more. biggrin

well, all in all for that period i prefer wilfred owen and hemingway. i like great gatsby but have not yet read tender is the night. that's later this quarter. that sense of mourning juxtaposed with jaded decadence is what i like about LG.
