That happened to me one time and I just brought the letter and a copy of my bank statement, showing that they cashed the check, to the leasing office and they said it was their mistake.

i know i don't want to be here permanently, but we're still looking at houses anyway since we'll be here for a few years at least. i'm just so sick of throwing my money down the toilet! we can always sell the house wehn we move and get some of our money back, so i figure what the hell.

if this isn't your first rent payment, then you shouldn't have a problem. obviously you have documentation showing what you pay each month. by the state of michigan they can not rent or lower your payment without having you sign a new lease. just wait til friday and go talk to them. I'm sure everything will work out.

I'm sure it's just a misunderstanding and you'll get it worked out ... still, the small hassles of life are annoying! I don't have a copy of my lease either ... and we've been here 4 months.
