Spent today in the trenches...mother's day brunch is hell. the best gift these people could give there mothers is to have some fucking manners and courtesy, to show that they weren't raised to be rude cretins. (sorry to vent, i am so over this serving bullshit...another month or two and i will probably never wait tables again. phew)

Yesterday spent the day with mi mami y papi. we went hiking off in the Santa Monica Mountains. i found this great trail i had never done before, to a place called the Grotto. it was a nice strenuous hike + some rock climbing, but well worth it! The Grotto was as if out of a dream (although when i hear the word grotto, i think mermaids or playboy bunnies )...although there was water in the caves, i bet its much better during the rainy season. Later, we had mongolian bbq and i ate 4 helpings doused in the yummy spicy cock sauce (haha there is a rooster on the bottle)

i am going to savor every minute of this last summer at home. hopefully everyday i can get my fill of the beach, hiking, my family, friends, my hunk of a man and his family, my kitties and all the things i hold dear and about to miss pretty soon.
