So i'm back in NYC till at least the 1st of Dec. . .hopefully not much longer. Made it back up to NYC from New Orleans in 1 shot, with two, one hour rests in the back of the truck, and a few stops for eating. . . too wound up and too tired from driving to actually fall asleep during my breaks. Took about 23, or 25 hours. Traveling east from Central to Eastern Standard. . .ah fuck math.
That reminds me of a joke. Well not really a joke, just my inner nerd shining through:
Before i left for my road trip i was figuring out distances and mileages and times. So i added up all the distances and guessed my average MPH and divided acordingly to find oot how long it would take me. But when i divided the two i got an irrational number and i joked to myself that, logically, if it should take me an irrational number of units of time, in actuallity i could never get to my destination. stupid geek humor.
anyway, yeah, so i move to New Orleans and of course everyone is all "I know where i'm staying for Mardi Gras" (like i didnt expect that) And while i'd love to put up all my friends if i could, its not actually my apartment, so i'm trying to tread as lightly as possible. As always, visitors are always welcome, but everyone should just know that i've become a very "popular" person to want to visit lately and may have to stagger my visitors.
Then theres the other story of everyone wanting to visit, but for the most part, most people talk a lot of shit, but never follow through; it's the story of my life of dealing with my friends. Grand aspirations, zero execution.
but i love them.
And while that seems like a "hint" not to come visit New Orleans, it's not. If anyone is going to the big easy, definitely get in touch with me and i'll see what i can do. From a place to stay to showing around to just a heads up, i'm always happy to help if i can.
Oh yeah, and now i just need to find a job
