I found a short poem I wrote a few years back after a really tough breakup. Suprising enough though, after all these years the emotions and memories it conjures up for me are still so raw and powerful. Its painful when the dream of the one you love falls so short of the person they actually are. But its not the fault of anyone either; because you cant blame the dreamer for dreaming, and surely you cant blame the other for being.

But without further ado I give you my poem:


A Lover's Goodbye

Love lament the tortured heart
As it recedes into the dark
A light once though to never fade
Shines, then flickers, and dies away
Emotions strong but meant to sway
Like the fickle dance of the candles flame
