what is the best weapon to kill those gianr scorpions? i swear i have the big sword that the Nightkins have and still i get killed

The option to recruit a follower will usually show up in your dialog options, but in most cases, you've had to do some kind of job for or related to them before it will appear. There might be one or two where you are directed to contact them by another NPC. Not sure, but their being willing to join may depend on your reputation and charisma, and if you have to talk them into it, it may depend on your speech ability, as well. And they might appear only if you take certain dialog options in the first place.
