I've screwed up the friends invite thing a bunch of times too. Inevitably I end up adding the person multiple times, then when I try to delete one of the entries, they all get deleted. You're not alone. Maybe we should start a support group?
Anyway, thanks for those links, it's really cool stuff. I had been casually following space exploration for a while until I read about the NASA probe that was sent out I think in '97 - Deep Space 1. The whole idea that someone had actually built and tested an ion propulsion system just got me totally hooked. Now I'm a total junkie, I've got like 2600 Seti at home units done and I'm always looking at Space.com for interesting articles.
That's a weird fact that you've got posted. I wonder why the switch from the second to the 4th? If you were going to switch it to any day, why not the 6th? Then at least it would be 7/6/76. For the numerologists out there.
Yeah, i've definitely had similar experiences with New York women. The truth is often stranger than fiction, especially in this city. It does provide some amusement though, even if it's of the "I can't believe we've allowed civilization to degrade this much" variety.
As for your request... that's a good one. A very good one, and one that I'm particularly interested in. The short answer - nobody knows. The long answer... I'll post. It's going to have to be a multi-part session, I'll do one on cellular/molecular memory (I may have to split those into two if they get too long) and one on structural/neuroanatomical memory. Very cool stuff though.
Yep, SG is great for meeting people with all sorts of random knowledge. I actually stole the idea for biology discussions from Minty, who does Archaeology hour every other week or so. You should check it out, it's full of fun facts.
Have a nice christmas. Are you going to go to the SGNY party on the 3rd?
