Blargh. A half dozen young men chose 4 am this morning to stand underneath my bedroom window and have a series of loud conversations. Seriously? What the fuck? Moving on.
I wanted to go see the new James Bond movie, but an emergency at work prevented me from going. Then I got lazy when I got home today. Blah.
My bookshelf is fuller than it has been for awhile. For starters, I'm reading Grand Theft Childhood.

GTC is a Harvard Medical study about the affect of video games on children. The authors argue the harm to society is massively overstated or down right fabricated. In fact, there are benefits which are completely ignored.
At the exact same time, I'm also reading The Audacity of Hope.

As I may have mentioned before, the timing on this pick is coincidental. I just added a few things on my wishlist to make sure I qualified for the cheap shipping off of amazon.com. By accident, I got the complete West Wing (which I'm watching right now) at the same time on November 3.
From there, I'll move onto the Graveyard Book.

A new book from Neil Gaiman (I love Neil Gaiman) which is technically a children's book. Apparently what the British think is for kids is what an American thinks is for 95 year olds. It's kind of like the Jungle Book in a cemetery.
Finally, I'll read Party Monster.
Originally named Disco Bloodbath, PM is about club kids in the 90's; focusing on the murder and dismemberment of a drug dealer by one of those kids. I've been wanting to read more about this since I saw the A&E special and the film (starring Macaualy Culkin). Jena was right. The first printing DB version is flippin' expensive! I think knowledge should be free, but I'll settle for mass market media cheap.
