Alright....The Billy Talent Story.
My best bud and I go to a lot of shows and a few years back, we were going to a show at the university of Calgary to see Alexisonfire....They were opening for this band Billy Talent. The only thing I knew about these guys were they had a huge single at the time (Try Honesty), they were from out east (The online radio station I listened to at work was playing them every hour for about 3 months before we heard anything out here) and they got thier name from Billy Talent in the movie Hard Core Logo (A movie I loved since I first seen it about 8 years before or something)
We get to the show and there is this huge line, since we were actually there to see the opening group, we waited in it.
We seen this guy yelling about the show being taped for a TV show, then we see the cameras. They were going through the line asking people some questions. They stop and talk to the kids in front of us in line...."Where did Billy Talent get thier name from?"
"I don't know" says the kid....."Well I know that" I said.
The camera swings on me and the host has the mic on me and asks again.
"Hard Core Logo"
"Cool...Wait here, we have to get one more person and we will come right back"
Then they return with a girl and say 'Lets go....We have to get started. You are going to be filming the show with some cameras we are going to give you, once you are done, you keep the cameras and give us the tape. You will be also interviewing Billy Talent."
My Buddy and I are back stage and I am trying to bumble my way through an interview for a band that I know nothing about. Chuck (My buddy) says that my interview was good though.
Got to interview them pre-show and post.
My friend just kinda hung out and went where he wanted since they gave him a backstage pass too....Got to see more of the Alexison fire set then i did cause i was backstage filimg stuff and he got to meet with a few of them.
All in all it was a pretty crazy night...I wanted the camera and still have yet to watch the show.
Friends and Family have seen it but I refuse.
