Take it from me - get your vacation time and your new job in order before you put in your notice. The last job I quit, they owed me a week's vacation and refused to give it to me because I had put my notice in, so I told everyone in the entire dealership to take their vacation time, then quit without giving notice.
About six people ended up doing exactly that, enough to make the dealership controller very nervous whenever someone filed for vacation time.
