I'm up around the Chicago area these days. Lake Michigan has a decent lake beach thing going on. I haven't been fishing in years either. Your BF should definitely get on that ball and go take you fishing. It's simple and really fun. If he doesn't enjoy it, he's doing it wrong. :p
