On top of a Mountain in Greece with a view of the cliffs and ocean and white houses with laundry hanging on wires from window to window. An expensive canvas, oil paints and GOOD brushes. Pinot Grigio and my ipod. Just for one day.... sigh.
OF COURSE! I'd be a completely different person if that was my life! It would allow me to be the me I want to be. Complete vaca from this piece of stinky crap I am. California is stealing my soul.
Believe it or not, Clancy Brown is from this area of Ohio as well. His parents own Brown Publishing, who own and print most of the newspaper's in the area. He graduated from Urbana University which is like 30 miles from Sidney. I wish they'd have finished Carnivale though.
It's actually surprising how many celebrities have ties to this are a of Ohio, Clancy Brown, Martin Sheen, Emilio Estevez, Charlie Sheen, Rob Lowe, just to name a few. A lot of pro football players are from this area as well.
There have been a lot more celebrities and athletes that have come out of Ohio than there have been astronauts. George Clooney is amomg the top names from Ohio, but I'm thinking he's from the Cleveland area. I know Martin Sheen was a foster child in Dayton growing up, and of course Charlie Sheen and Emilio Estevez are his children. Clancy Brown is from Urbana. Rob and Chad Lowe's grandfather used to own the Spot in Sidney, so they were always here in my hometown visiting. Matt Light of the New England Patriots went to school in Greenville. Chris Carter of the Minnesota Vikings has family in the Troy area. Drew Carey is from the Cleveland area. I know there are more from Cincy and Columbus as well, but I can't remember them all. Of course, Road Warrior Animal and his son are from Ohio, his son plays football for OSU. A.J. Hawk who plays for Green Bay Packers is from the Dayton area. There's also a basketball player who was drafted to the Miami Heat if I remember correctly who grew up in Dayton. Ohio is a lot more than the astronauts, but Neil Armstrong, John Glen, and Alan Shepherd all made history, which is why they get the recognition.
To think how lucky I am to have escaped sheep attack. Who would drive you into the nettles?! I ought to give them a knuckle sandwich. Here in Texas we have some road agression to but it comes in different forms. When I had a minivan I used for a furniture business I had, I regularly experienced macho aggression from FORD F150 drivers. They couldn't stand the idea a minivan was leaving them behind in the dirt and would always start almost drag racing me. They didn't understand that I always drive fast and that I wasn't trying to race anyone. I just wanted to get where I needed to go. It only hapened in the minvan but never any other car....and only F150 drivers.
I forgot about the standard issue drunk. You are right. There was one in the seat behind me. Why is it that they usually ARE in the seat behind, thumping into it and mumbling. Perhaps because they need to make room for the chronic wind factory in front.
And that hotel one wheels business...who says that ends in high school?
