Your boy is super-cute! Li and I (sadly) have no kids, so we live vicariously through our nieces...

Join Violin Doubters Anonymous, gorgeous. I started it up last week.

Your nametag is there. If you'd just like to tell the group who you are and why you're here, we can move on to kicking the everlasting crap out of Cupid. If you want, we have baseball bats with nails through them.

crayne:

Crap. I forgot. There is one case of the violin known... current case anyway.
Feb 14th will be a one year anniversary for that particular violin...

Ack. I'm so sorry, sweetie. Even sorrier that I won't be around to take you out to dinner or something. Blegh.

Well...
The truth is we cannot have kids. I suppose we could have them with a surrogate mother or adopt; but the other factor entering into the equation is that I have a degenerative illness. A lot of my time is taken up with being sick and/or doing things to keep from getting sicker. We think it would be kind of unfair to have a family in that situation. Plus, the fact that health care is so expensive here in the USA is a real drain on our finances because of my illness, I am turned down for all insurance and thus I have to get it through the state, which, while good insurance, is quite expensive. That also doesn't cover all the pills I have to take, and basicallly, we spend about as much on my health care as we do on mortgage each month. Maybe more.

So, we just enjoy the time we have with each other. Li's sister has a little girl now (3) and is expecting in two months a boy. Our roomie Panda has two little nieces as well, who are awful adorable. And then, my best friend has a daughter named after me (which is awful flattering) so we have some kidly attention!

Hey, on a totally different topic: Have you heard of a product called Repair Locobase? I picked some up last time I was in Europe it's a product made to help heal new tattoos. It's excellent.

never thought of it in violin terms but the heart pounding stuff, i'll vouch for that, and probably when you least expect it. (and i'm a cynic)
jamie_trecker:
No, not at all! I think if we wanted to have children, we'd find some way how to. We're lucky in that we have her sister, the Panda, and my best friend, yes.
8 weeks premature? Wow. Man, I'd be terrified.
I've never heard of Benpathen. Hmm. I'll have to pick some up. I mentioned Locobase as my pal brought it back for me from the Netherlands it is a mild painkiller as well as anti-inflammatory, and it works wonders.
