I may have gone to the best show I've been to all year on Friday night! It was an awesome night that including me dancing on stage with about 100 other people at the Mercury Lounge.
It started a little bit quieter at the free New York Dolls show at the South Street Seaport. The opening act was awful, then the 60 year old rockers got on stage and crooned and struted and put on a great show. It's always fun watching legends live up to their billing.
Following that I went to the sold out Girl Talk show without a ticket and managed to get into the show. Professor Murder was excellent with their electronic pop sound, but paled in comparison with laptop DJ Girl Talk. Girl Talk started the show by bringing people from the crowd up on stage to dance. Other people jumped up as the music kept going and then finally Girl Talk himself brough me on stage to dance. It was a great sweaty evening!!! If you haven't checked out the Girl Talk album, "Night Ripper" I'd suggest you do so now!!!
