There weren't really any geriatrics in the group, although there was one older gentleman who "only spoke Redneck." He was way at the other end of the table so I didn't get to talk to him much. I'd guess the average age of the other people was somewhere between 35 to 40; I was easily the youngest one out of 15 or so there. But that's not unusual, at least in my by-no-means overwhelming experience. Outside of big cities, most people who have that degree of self-recognition and are comfortable enough to look for other hobbyists are a little older.
No worries. I just wanted to seize the opportunity to gloat about the awesomeness of my doodled dungeons, particularly as I'm working on a new one this afternoon.
And yeah, bitter scorn is a requirement of longtime GMs as well. I imagine game designers are the next step up on the hierarchy. You guys must be so marinated in misanthropy.
