I made it through the eclipse all right. We lost about seventy five percent, not really enough to dim the day or change the temperature. Of course, I have the correct glasses.
It was actually my second eclipse, but the first I saw. There was one in Seattle. In Seattle, the sun is considered a myth. People in the area have seen Sasquatches. Nobody in Seattle has ever seen the sun.
Of course, this was all American eclipse. If you wanted to see it live, you had to come to the US. Initially, it was planned as a general North American eclipse, but President Trump threatened the sun, and then it was explained the the joint Canada/Mexico/United States World Cup proposal is heavily weighted to the US, so the sun changed its mind.
