Rice is good at reducing moist in the area around it, because rice loves water. If you want to keep the salt in a shaker dry, you put a bit of rice in it as well. It really does make sense, science-wise.

But just letting it sit to dry in the air should work fine as well.

I am prone to this kind of accident as well, so I buy phones that can survive this by being waterproof. So I never really have the cutest phones, but at least mine bounce on the floor (without breaking) due to all the rubber. And I've even dropped a phone in a tile of water during a conversation, picked it up again and talked on


And of course: YAY, you're back!

My daughter washed her phone. It still works. I dropped a pager in a urinal once. It sat at the bottom vibrating for about a minute before i got the nerve to pull it out.

The rice is a good idea though, the rice will draw all the moisture out.
