Finding decent live music might be difficult, depending on where your tastes lie. All I've really managed to come across is subpar open-mic nights and guys with acoustics who only do covers. Arguably, I haven't really looked that hard.
I usually end up playing drinking / playing pool downtown, since I only really have male friends here, and those are usually the only things you can convince them to do.
Born and raised here, escaped at 17 when I started university.
I actually am the drinking/pool type, though I tend to frequent a favorite cafe for board games and tea when I don't really feel like boozing. The one thing I can't talk my friends into is dancing, but since Stages is the only place for that, it's not worth it anyway. (For me, it's a high school reunion of all the people I never liked)
I've been wanting to go rock climbing at the boiler room recently, though. Apparently we've got a new place for laser tag too, but you have to round up lots of people for that.
