Unfortunately there are extremists on both sides of the aisle, just that when one group is in power they keep a lid on them while the others uncork the rage. Thankfully the overwhelming percentage of the population are more or less centerists who do not subscribe to the "us versus them" nonsense spouted off by the assorted rabble rousers.

Just wish more people would get involved with local elections... the jerk who stole your milk money that's not stopped when he runs for town council will run for higher office in the next election and probably has the charisma to BS people. We are responsable for the pool of candidates yet somehow no one seems to care or understand why we're stuck with Brand A or Brand B that take the same money from the same lobbyists.
