Alan Watts is (was) a wise man. I've read some of his writing on Taoism. As a personality psychologist, I do believe we are our personality, but our personality includes our hope, dreams, goals, and the narrative we create to make sense of our lives and our place in the world.

@kaicito , it depends on whether we consider this concept this or that. as a personality psychology, you consider personality in a more expanded way, not only as a kind of self-centered ego. and even the ego has different meanings. there is the ego according to freud, according to alan watts, and so on.
