The ends of friendships are always hard but sometimes they need to happen. That always makes me sad too. Now I find that I have a problem letting people in and even the people I do let in a keep at a distance in one form or another. As soon as anyones makes me feel vulnerable or like they could hurt me I detach and put my guards up.
Sorry to hear you're feeling down although it's nice to have friends ready with mj and booze though! I always look fwd to change. Why'd you end your friendship if you care for him/her? What's your fantasy?
I like your anime pic of the nurse. I lived in J for 1 1/2 yrs...very surreal.
Yup...resp secrections...I had everyone from 2yrs to 42 yrs old cough on me today. Usually just as I leaned fwd to listen to their chests. Nice.
How'd you get on to ICU while still a student!!?? Or are you a post-grad RN? I want to take the ICU course. I wouldn't mind going half time and working in ICU/Emerg on my time out.
You should go for your NP or come up north (except there's alot of snow). I'm going to challenge the exam. I've not done the NP programme but I've done the Outpost course (caught a few neonates) and I function in an expanded scope of practice. I love it.
You're allowed to ask... I'm going overseas (I'm in the military too) in Aug. I'm rather excited...it'll be quite the change.
Mmmmm...beeer! Sigh. You've no idea just how jealous I am. I'm on a dry reserve...NO BOOZE! I'm going to so enjoy a drink this weekend.
Don't apologise for the lengthy post...there's bugger all to do up here so lots to read is a good thing!
Sorry to hear 'bout the non-friendship. Sucks eh? Ridding yourself of excess baggage is a good thing though...lighter travelling.
The simple fantasies are often the best. Good luck in fulfilling it. You like spooning?
That's pretty cool you're getting into ICU so soon. Nice to feel wanted and have people request that you come and work for them eh? It was a nice change after my first degree (English).
Trachs are gross but I find body fluids don't bother me so much. I've even managed to step in a bed-pan...it was full at the time...and then worked an 8 hr shift...D'oh.
Careful 'bout coming up north if you're worried about burn-out...Northern nurses have higher stress lvls than ICU nurses.
Yeah, I've heard the exam is hard but what the hell. Expanded scope means that I can assess, Dx, Tx and Rx from a formulary. No calling the doc @ 4 AM for a Tylenol order.
Cheers.
Let's see (looks at sash) ... beer drinking patch, nicotene patch, sometimes a pot smoking patch, class clown patch, semi - cute guy patch (I'm working my way towards the cute patch - I'll get there someday)
I decided to look at your pics today and I couldn't stop laughing at the emu pic, it's awesome!!!
How was shopping yesterday? It doesn't sound like you had a good day. Cheer up babe!!! Springtime is coming soon, and it will be time for new and exciting things. Like enjoying smoking pot outside again
As for Nepean point it's downtown behind the art gallery. It's my most favourite place in the city, I can be foudn there writing and just thinking pretty often.
You're right, this weather totally blows. I hate that the weather seems to control my mood. I'll be at home and all happy and not even look outside, but then I walk to work and by the time I get there I'm the meanest fucker you've ever met. Damn coldness...damn snow.
